United Way for Greater Austin and Austin Community Foundation announced that they are awarding $2.2 million dollars to 70 Austin area non-profits this month in an effort to support communities who have been caused hardship by the COVID-19 pandemic.
United Way for Greater Austin noted, “This funding comes from All Together ATX, the COVID-19 relief fund we created in partnership with our friends at Austin Community Foundation. The nonprofits receiving grants are working to address domestic violence and child abuse, digital equity, mental health, aging populations and utility assistance.”
OWBC has been selected for a grant totaling $20,000. This grant is for Aging Populations in Williamson County. This funding will be critical for our Meals on Wheels clients, who are among the aging population we serve.
United Way commented, “On behalf of United Way for Greater Austin, Austin Community Foundation, and the entire community, thank you for the important work you are doing to support the community during this critical time.”
