Did you know that more than 1,500 seniors in Williamson and Burnet counties rely on Meals on Wheels?
For the past 15 years, Opportunities for Williamson & Burnet Counties (OWBC) has proudly partnered with the Women Helping Others (WHO Ladies) to support Georgetown Meals on Wheels through an annual community fundraiser. Together, the WHO Ladies have raised more than $800,000 to support Georgetown’s Meals on Wheels program, helping ensure that homebound seniors receive nutritious meals, wellness checks, and meaningful human connection.
The goal of this fundraiser is simple: to ensure that no eligible senior is placed on a waiting list and that everyone in need has access to nutritious meals and compassionate care.
The fundraiser runs from July 1 through October 15, 2026, and this year your generosity will go even further. Thanks to the Georgetown Health Foundation, every donation will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $75,000, doubling the impact of every gift.
Meals on Wheels is about much more than delivering food. For many seniors, a volunteer’s visit may be their only face-to-face interaction of the day. A warm meal, a friendly conversation, and a quick wellness check can make all the difference in helping older adults remain healthy, independent, and connected to their community.
Today, Georgetown Meals on Wheels serves 21 congregate meals each weekday at the Madella Hilliard Neighborhood Center on 8th Street and delivers meals daily to 75 seniors in Sun City and 207 Georgetown residents. Last year alone, OWBC served 73,320 meals through the Georgetown Meals on Wheels program, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to meeting the growing need for nutrition and senior support services.
As Georgetown continues to grow, so does the need for Meals on Wheels. Your support helps ensure that every senior who needs a meal receives one.
Please consider making a donation today. Together, we can reach our $100,000 fundraising goal and maximize the Georgetown Health Foundation’s generous $75,000 matching gift.
