The WHO Fundraiser
GEORGETOWN, Texas – June 26, 2025 – The WHO Ladies are proud to announce their 14th Annual Fundraiser to support Meals on Wheels. This dedicated campaign is specifically aimed at raising awareness and critical funding for our over 350 seniors in Sun City and Georgetown who are served by Meals on Wheels of Williamson & Burnet Counties through the Madella Hilliard Neighborhood Center. The fundraiser will run from July 1, 2025, to October 7, 2025, providing vital support for nutritious meals and daily wellness checks.
This funding helps to sustain essential home-delivered meal services with no waitlist for vulnerable seniors in Georgetown. For years, this support has been a critical component of our Meals on Wheels program, allowing us to provide thousands of nutritious meals annually to homebound older adults who face food insecurity, chronic illness, and social isolation. Without these funds, we face difficult decisions, including potential waitlists, reduced meal delivery routes, or fewer days of service — all of which pose serious health and safety risks to our clients.
Our clients are primarily individuals aged 60 and older, many of whom live alone and below the poverty line. For them, a daily meal is more than nutrition — it’s a wellness check, a lifeline, and a connection to the community. Our goal is to ensure that no senior is left hungry or alone due to circumstances beyond their control.
Adding to the significance of this year’s initiative, the WHO Ladies are thrilled to announce that St. David’s Foundation has committed a generous matching grant. Pledging to match every donated dollar to this fundraiser — up to $50,000 — this powerful partnership allows the initiative to pursue its ambitious goal of raising $100,000 for senior services. Every donation made between July 1 and October 7 will be automatically matched up to $50,000, doubling the impact for local seniors.
Since 2012, the WHO Ladies and St. David’s Foundation have raised an astounding $698,681 in support of community programs, making a lasting difference in the lives of older adults across Williamson County.
