On May 25th, the Burnet County government presented checks to various non-profit organizations in the Burnet area. At Burnet County’s Employee Picnic, staff raffled off baskets and raised money for organizations in the community that serve those in need. Money was raised for The Phoenix Center, Caring Hearts for Children, and Meals on Wheels.
Our Meals on Wheels location in Burnet, called the Burnet Senior Center, served approximately 22,000 meals in 2020. Our Burnet site also added 70 new clients last year, serving a greater number of seniors within the community amidst a pandemic.
In total, Burnet County made a $2,190 donation to our Meals on Wheels program, benefiting our Burnet Senior Center. We are thrilled to receive this generous contribution. Any additional funding that we receive helps us to better serve our senior neighbors in need.
