Amplify Austin: Day of Giving on March 4-5

Amplify Austin Day is coming up this March 4-5. Amplify Austin is an opportunity every year to give back to our local community.

According to the AmplifyATX.org website, “I Live Here I Give Here is on a mission to make Central Texas the most generous community in the nation. We believe that we can build a more united, more equitable, and more prosperous community for all when we give together.”

This 24 hours of online giving raises money for hundreds of different charities in the greater Austin area. We participate to raise monetary donations for our Meals on Wheels program, serving senior neighbors in need in Williamson and Burnet Counties.

We’re excited to announce that this year, we are eligible for matching funds up to $10,000, thanks to a generous anonymous donor. That means every dollar donated will be matched up to $10,000. These donations will make such an impact on our Meals on Wheels program.

Meals on Wheels

In 2020, Meals on Wheels of Williamson & Burnet Counties continued to serve hot meals to seniors throughout the pandemic and was able to take on hundreds of new clients, as well. At this time, we need donor support to help us continue serving our Meals on Wheels neighbors as best we can. With donations, we can provide supplemental food items, adult diapers, warm socks, and more for our local seniors.

2020 – By the Numbers

  • 222,134 home-delivered and congregate meals served
  • 15,385 total clients served
  • 522 new clients
  • 16, 208 volunteer hours
