Amplify Austin 2020 is a 24 hour period of online giving to nonprofits in the greater Austin area. This year, we hosted a Kickoff Event on March 4th at Zoës Kitchen in Round Rock. Numerous other nonprofits, like the Round Rock Area Serving Center and Backpack Friends, were in attendance, as well as many community members, board members, and staff. The day of giving, March 5th at 6pm through March 6th at 6pm, has been instrumental for our senior neighbors in need. All proceeds from Amplify benefit our Meals on Wheels program, helping to feed seniors at our congregate sites and homebound seniors, too.
With the help of our community, we were able to raise $9,000 for Meals on Wheels of Williamson & Burnet Counties. With the funds raised, we are able to provide 1,285 meals to our senior neighbors. We will know final donation numbers in April, when Amplify releases the matched fund totals. St. David’s Foundation matched donations up to $1,000,000, so their matching funds will be distributed evenly across all participating nonprofits.
