For the past five years, Opportunities for Williamson and Burnet Counties has partnered with the Austin Diaper Bank to serve clients with diaper needs, including our families and seniors.
Austin Diaper Bank is dedicated to providing diapers to Central Texas families who need a clean, reliable supply of diapers for a healthy and comfortable quality of life.
Holly McDaniel, Executive Director at Austin Diaper Bank, commented, “Our partnership with Opportunities for Williamson and Burnet Counties has been paramount in serving families who might not otherwise have access to basic needs. The work we do together not only provides diapers, wipes and period supplies, but empowers families to live healthy and active lives in the community.”
Specifically, this partnership is extremely impactful for our Head Start program. Our Head Start program is made up of hundreds of families with little ones. This partnership helps our families in need meet the diaper needs they have for their children.
Tanya Graham, a Family and Community Engagement Coordinator at OWBC, commented, “Each month, OWBC typically picks up 1,500 diapers for clients in need. The diapers are ordered specifically for Head Start parents who need the extra help and are given directly to the families when they pick up their children.”
However, the Austin Diaper Bank supplies diapers, pull ups, wipes, bed pads, and even adult diapers – ultimately helping us serve clients of all ages.
