Rouse High School’s PALS Donate Hygiene Items

This week, we are grateful for a donation we received from Rouse High School in Leander. Their PALS program (PALS stands for Peers Assistance and Leadership) was able to donate much needed hygiene items! Seniors from last year’s graduating class were able to collect items from the entire student population. These items are a true necessity for our senior neighbors in need. Items collected and donated include toothbrushes, toothpaste, first aid kits, razors, deodorant, tissues, lotion, wipes, shampoo, soap, and more.

Erin Morgan, a representative from Rouse High School’s PALS program, said, “I am just so happy we could donate! Many of the PALS naturally have a kind heart and want to serve. Part of our job is to demonstrate to others how important it is to help and serve others. PALS does a lot of service and volunteer work but with our new way of interacting, have been put on somewhat of a hold. We reached out to the school and were able to collect these items from our student population. We had about 70 PALS last year and currently have about 90 this year.”

These hygiene items will primarily be distributed to our senior Meals on Wheels clients, who during the pandemic, have not been able to go out to purchase these items for themselves. Furthermore, many of our seniors are low-income or working on a very fixed-income, so these donations are sincerely appreciated and needed. Thanks again, PALS!
