Rouse High School’s PALS Program Continues to Provide Donations for OWBC Clients in Need

Rouse High School, located in Leander, has become a wonderful source of donations for the last few months for OWBC clients. In November, Rouse High School’s PALS (Peers Assistance and Leadership) program collected and donated hygiene items for our Meals on Wheels seniors in need (read that story here).

This month, they have consistently worked to collect and give back to their neighbors in need, holding a sock drive for our Meals on Wheels seniors and a food drive, as well. Considering these students are in high school and encountering their own challenges with the pandemic, we couldn’t be prouder to work with Rouse’s PALS program and their program advisor, Erin Morgan.

Our Director of Development, Lauren McAndrews, said, “Thank you to Rouse High School students for the incredible food donations.  Our families are mostly income limited and especially during these days of COVID this food will not only feed many, but will also make the holidays more festive and enjoyable.  Thank you so much to these amazing students, who demonstrate a great sense of community and caring.  It is acts such as this that make our community special and a great place to live.”
