WHO Ladies of Sun City Raise $69,110 for Meals on Wheels in Georgetown

Women Helping Others, or as we affectionately call them, the “WHO Ladies” of Sun City, have just completed their 10th Annual Fundraiser for our Meals on Wheels program. Over the last decade, the WHO Ladies have raised approximately $400,000 for Meals on Wheels, specifically in Georgetown. Hundreds of women who reside in Sun City, Texas are a part of the WHO Ladies and help raise funds for several local non-profits of their choosing.

This year, the WHO Ladies of Sun City have raised $39,110.41 for our Meals on Wheels’ Madella Hilliard Senior Center in Georgetown. St. David’s Foundation was generously able to match up to $30,000 in funds. With the St. David’s Foundation contribution, that increases the total funds raised for this year to $69,110.

Carrie Berry, the Director of Meals on Wheels, said, “The WHO Ladies have been wonderful to work with, and together, we can continue to conquer the needs of seniors in Georgetown. The funds from this year’s WHO Fundraiser will provide new coolers and bags for delivery while helping us sustain the Madella Hilliard Center for another year. After 10 years of being a benefactor of the gracious spirit of the WHO Ladies, I look forward to another great year of their support.”

Many thanks to the WHO Ladies of Sun City and to St. David’s Foundation for their contributions to this fundraising campaign. Because of their hard work and dedication to serving those in the Georgetown community, our Madella Hilliard Senior Center will be able to accomplish so much more in 2021.
